How Our Trust & Safety Team Caught a Coordinated Fake-Account Network — Before It Reached You

At AsianThrill, we take one promise seriously: the people you meet here should be real.

So when our monitoring detected unusual activity this week, we didn’t wait to act.

What We Noticed

Over a 48-hour period, our systems and team identified a cluster of newly created profiles that initially looked like ordinary signups. The profiles had photos, friendly bios, and different identities and locations.

But behind the scenes, several signals didn’t add up.

Multiple supposedly unrelated accounts showed technical and registration patterns suggesting they were being created together rather than by independent members. Other similarities across the accounts strengthened that concern.

No single signal automatically means an account is fraudulent. But when several indicators appear together across a group of accounts, they deserve a closer look.

Our review determined that these were coordinated, inauthentic accounts, not genuine independent members joining AsianThrill.

Because fake profiles are frequently used as the starting point for romance scams, financial fraud, spam, and other abuse, we acted immediately.

What We Did

Once the pattern was confirmed, we:

  • Removed the accounts associated with the activity.
  • Blocked the source of the abusive registrations.
  • Added additional automated protections designed to detect unusually high volumes of related account creation before those profiles can become active.
  • Kept human review in the process, so automated signals are not our only line of defense.

We intentionally don’t publish every detail about how our detection systems work. Making those rules public would also make it easier for bad actors to work around them.

Why This Matters

Romance scams can cause enormous financial and emotional harm.

The most sophisticated scammers don’t necessarily ask for money immediately. They may spend days or weeks building trust before introducing an emergency, requesting financial help, encouraging an investment, or trying to move the conversation away from the dating platform.

That’s why prevention matters.

Whenever possible, we’d rather stop a suspicious account before it has the opportunity to contact a member than deal with the damage afterward.

You Can Help Protect the Community Too

Technology and human review can catch a lot, but members remain an important part of keeping AsianThrill safe.

Be cautious when someone moves unusually fast. Strong declarations of affection almost immediately, pressure to communicate somewhere else, or attempts to establish intense trust very quickly can be warning signs.

Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or investment funds to someone you haven’t met and independently verified. Emergencies, travel problems, customs fees, medical bills, and “guaranteed” investment opportunities are common themes in romance scams.

Check profile photos when something doesn’t feel right. Reverse-image searches can sometimes reveal that a photograph belongs to someone else or appears under multiple identities online.

Report suspicious behavior. If a profile or conversation feels wrong, use AsianThrill’s reporting tools. Reports help our team investigate individual accounts and can also reveal larger patterns of coordinated activity.

Our Commitment

Real connections start with real people.

That’s the purpose of AsianThrill, and it’s why we’ll continue investing in technology, preventative safeguards, and human judgment to protect our community.

No dating platform can promise that a bad actor will never attempt to get through. What we can promise is that when we identify suspicious activity, we investigate it and take action.

And as the people behind this latest operation discovered, sometimes that action happens before they ever get the chance to say hello.

Stay safe. Stay alert. And if something doesn’t feel right, report it.
